Intro to breastfeeding workshop
Time & Location
About the Event
Are you planning on breastfeeding your new baby , but don't know where or how to start? Join our informative and practical online course to learn all you need to know from a dietitian , lactation consult, and mother of 2 breastfed girls , with a total of 50 months of breastfeeding under her belt.
- Have you wondered how breasts work? Whether your breasts are big (or small) enough (your husband's opinion doesn't count ) to breastfeed successfully? Why breastmilk is so amazing?
- Do you know how your baby's birth may influence your breastfeeding journey? What is important during those first few days? What you should pack for hospital? How to know whether your baby is latching well? What to do to ensure that you make enough milk?
- Once you're home - how do you adjust to your new normal - drink, pee, poo, sleep, repeat? How often and for how long should your baby feed - on demand or 3-hourly routine? How do you know whether they are getting enough breastmilk, and that you are making enough milk? Have you heard about growth spurts and cluster feeding?
- Looking after yourself - What can you eat? Are supplements necessary? Creating your breastfeeding station? Lining up your support system? Hormones & sex life?
